Over 5.87 crore forms collected in 17 days; EC gears up for final 14-day push
New Delhi: With just two weeks left for the deadline, Bihar has achieved a major milestone in its ongoing Summary Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Over 74.39% of the state’s nearly 7.90 crore electors have already submitted their Enumeration Forms.
Since the Election Commission of India (ECI) issued SIR instructions on June 24, 2025, the campaign has seen enthusiastic participation across Bihar. As of 6 PM today, 5,87,49,463 forms have been collected — that’s 3 out of every 4 electors. The deadline for submission is July 25, 2025, giving another 14 days for remaining electors to take part.
In the second phase of SIR, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are going door-to-door to collect filled forms. This effort is being supervised by 38 District Election Officers (DEOs), 243 Assembly Constituency EROs, and 963 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) across the state.
Alongside collection, digitisation is also going full steam ahead. So far, 3.73 crore forms have been uploaded through the BLO App/ECINet, as per Para 3(h) of SIR guidelines. A new verification module was launched today in ECINet for AERO/ERO-level authentication of the uploaded data.
A massive field force is at work, including 77,895 BLOs, 20,603 newly appointed BLOs, and 1.56 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) from all recognised political parties. Over 4 lakh volunteers are also assisting the elderly, PwD, sick, and other vulnerable groups. This collective effort has ensured timely progress and wide outreach.
With 14 days remaining, the Election Commission is urging the remaining electors to submit their forms at the earliest. The process is critical to ensuring a clean, updated, and inclusive electoral roll.
