New Delhi: In a major step to boost electric vehicle adoption in India, Tata Motors has announced a Lifetime High-Voltage (HV) Battery Warranty for its Curvv.ev SUV Coupe and Nexon.ev 45 kWh. The new offer aims to remove long-term worries around battery performance and replacement costs.
Tata Motors, India’s leading electric vehicle brand and the top SUV manufacturer, had first introduced this warranty with the Harrier.ev. After receiving positive feedback from customers, the company has now extended the benefit to two more popular models. The warranty is available to both new buyers and existing owners who are registered as first-time owners of these vehicles.
Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said the company is committed to offering a worry-free ownership experience. He said this move reflects Tata’s vision to give customers the confidence they need while adopting EVs. According to him, the new warranty will ensure a future-ready, carefree journey for all Tata.ev buyers.
The warranty will be available to all private individual customers of the Curvv.ev and Nexon.ev 45 kWh. The goal is to remove customer hesitation around battery health and the high cost of battery replacement. This step is expected to improve customer trust and help EVs gain wider acceptance.
Tata Motors says that this warranty will also support long-term resale value. Over 10 years, EV buyers may save around ₹8–9 lakh in running costs. This adds strong value to the overall EV ownership experience.
As an added benefit, Tata Motors is offering a direct discount of ₹50,000 to existing TATA.ev customers. This offer applies when they purchase either the Curvv.ev or Nexon.ev 45 kWh.
