Patna: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bihar is in its final stretch. With just 10 days left, the campaign has already collected 86.32% of the Enumeration Forms (EFs) from electors across the state. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are now preparing for one last round of visits to reach every remaining household.
Final Drive to Ensure No Voter Left Behind
Out of Bihar’s total 7.89 crore electors, filled forms have been collected from over 6.81 crore voters. When adjusted for deceased voters, those who have shifted permanently, or are registered in multiple places, the total coverage touches 90.84%. Only about 9.16% of electors are yet to submit their forms before the July 25 deadline.
Special Camps and Online Drive Intensified
To help these remaining voters, special camps are now active across all 5,683 wards of the 261 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in Bihar. BLOs are also encouraging citizens to submit their forms online via the ECINet App or the Election Commission’s portal https://voters.eci.gov.in.
News media ads and outreach efforts are also in full swing to ensure timely participation.
Digital Tools Driving the Effort
More than 6.20 crore forms have already been uploaded on the ECINet platform as of 6:00 PM today. A new feature launching tonight on the EC portal will allow electors to check the status of their EF submission.
The app also helps electors search for their names in the 2003 Electoral Roll, and contact their respective BLOs for assistance.
Political Parties and Volunteers Pitch In
BLOs are being supported by 1.5 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties. Each BLA can submit up to 50 forms per day on behalf of voters.
Special focus remains on urban areas, where camps and door-to-door visits continue to target those yet to submit their EFs.
What’s Next?
The final Draft Electoral Roll will be published on August 1, 2025. Until then, BLOs will leave no stone unturned to ensure that every eligible elector is included.
