New Delhi: In a massive effort to clean up the voters’ list, over 52 lakh problematic entries have been identified during the ongoing Summary Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. This includes nearly 18.66 lakh deceased voters, 26 lakh who have shifted constituencies, and 7.5 lakh enrolled in more than one place.
The draft electoral roll will be published on August 1, 2025, and the public will get one full month—until September 1—to raise objections or suggest corrections.
Key Figures from the Revision Drive
- Total electors (as of June 24, 2025): 7.89 crore
- Enumeration forms received: 7.16 crore (90.67%)
- Forms digitised: 7.13 crore (90.37%)

Massive Teamwork in the Field
Over 1 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs), 4 lakh volunteers, and 1.5 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs)—appointed by 12 major political parties—are working together to ensure no eligible voter is left out.
Election officials have held meetings with political parties and shared lists of those voters who haven’t submitted forms or couldn’t be found at their addresses.
What’s Next?
From August 1 to September 1, any citizen can:
- File objections
- Request corrections
- Report duplicate or deceased entries
The aim is to release a clean and accurate voter list for upcoming elections.
