Guwahati: The **Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD)** will soon build a **Lord Venkateswara temple in Assam**, marking its first major project in the northeastern state.
A **delegation from TTD**, led by its chairman **B.R. Naidu**, met Assam Chief Minister **Himanta Biswa Sarma** in Guwahati on Friday to discuss the proposal.
The TTD requested **five acres of land** for the temple. The Chief Minister accepted the request and assured land allocation **within Guwahati city**.
As reported by PTI, the temple will serve as a **spiritual and cultural centre**. TTD officials said it will complement the famous **Kamakhya temple**, one of Guwahati’s major religious sites.
The temple aims to promote **spiritual values**, foster **religious tourism**, and strengthen **cultural ties** between **Assam and Andhra Pradesh**.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Sarma **thanked Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu** and praised the TTD for its efforts. He said the project would **deepen spiritual and cultural bonds** between the two states.
The TTD is currently expanding its temple network and improving facilities for devotees across India. The Guwahati temple is expected to be a **milestone in this national outreach**.
The **exact location and construction timeline** will be announced after final administrative procedures are completed.
