Mamta Kulkarni Removed as Mahamandaleshwar, Reveals Financial Struggles

Praygraj: Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni has been removed from her position as Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhara. The decision was announced by Rishi Ajay Das, the founder of the Akhara, on January 31.

Mamta has spoken out about her financial difficulties following her expulsion. In an interview with journalist Rajat Sharma, she denied claims that she paid money for the title.

“I don’t have money. The government has seized my bank accounts. I am struggling to survive,” she said. She added that she had to borrow Rs 2 lakh to offer as ‘dakshina’ to her guru.

Mamta also revealed that three of her apartments have been shut for 23 years and are now infested with termites.

Rishi Ajay Das stated that Mamta was appointed without following religious or Akhara traditions. “She was given the title without renouncing worldly life. For the sake of Sanatan Dharma and society, I had to take this decision,” he explained.

Mamta Kulkarni left Bollywood in the early 2000s. Her last film was Kabhie Tum Kabhie Hum in 2002.
