New Delhi: Ahead of the February 5 Delhi elections, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He accused AAP of failing to govern Delhi effectively and called for a “double-engine government” led by the BJP.
Naidu blamed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the worsening pollution crisis. “Yamuna is the most polluted river. In 10 years, you could not control pollution. Only a double-engine government can do all this,” he said.
He also criticized AAP’s governance in Delhi and Punjab. “Can you imagine that AAP governs two states? Is it not a total failure model?” he questioned. Naidu claimed that the quality of water in Delhi was poor. “There is no difference between drainage water and drinking water in Delhi,” he said.
The Andhra CM also raised the issue of corruption, particularly the alleged liquor scam. “Compared to every other scam, the liquor scam is the worst,” he said. He urged voters to choose development-oriented leadership.
“Delhi suffers from two types of pollution—air pollution and political pollution. Both should be avoided,” Naidu stated. He added that clean air, clean water, and proper garbage disposal were major concerns for Delhi.
Naidu urged voters to support BJP for better governance. “We need leaders who share the country’s wealth, not loot it,” he said.
On ideology, Naidu remarked, “For me, ideology has become irrelevant. Performance and living standards are what matter.” He praised the Union Budget, calling it a step in the right direction.
Delhi will vote on February 5, and the results will be declared on February 8. Naidu expressed confidence that BJP would emerge victorious and lead Delhi on a path of progress.
