31 Naxalites Killed in Chhattisgarh Encounter, Two Security Personnel Martyred

Bijapur, Chhattisgarh: A fierce encounter broke out between security forces and Naxalites in Bijapur district on Sunday. Thirty-one Naxalites were killed, while two security personnel lost their lives. Two others sustained injuries but are out of danger.

The gunfight took place in the forests of Indravati National Park during an anti-Naxal operation. The fallen personnel belonged to the District Reserve Guard and the Special Task Force.

Security forces recovered bodies of all 31 Naxalites. A large number of weapons, including AK-47s, SLRs, INSAS rifles, and explosives, were seized from the site.

Injured personnel are receiving medical treatment, and additional forces have been sent as reinforcements. A search operation is still underway.
