New delhi: A recent revelation has shocked the education community. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) confirmed that SGN Public School in Nangloi, Delhi, was disaffiliated last year. This school was where a JEE (Mains) topper studied. The student scored a perfect 100 percentile. This has highlighted concerns over non-attending or “dummy” schools.
CBSE issued a notice after a surprise inspection at SGN Public School. Inspectors found major violations, including the admission of students who did not attend classes. The board stated that the school was not following CBSE regulations.
“A two-member committee conducted a surprise inspection. It found that the school was sponsoring non-attending students and violating board norms,” CBSE stated.
This incident has raised serious concerns about educational practices. Many students skip regular schooling to focus on coaching centers. While the topper’s success is commendable, CBSE stressed the need for students to attend recognized schools that meet national standards.
CBSE also referenced the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The policy promotes holistic learning, critical thinking, and practical knowledge. The board warned that non-attending schools could limit students’ overall development.
“Non-attending schools may offer an easy route to exam success, but they do not align with NEP 2020’s objectives. Regular schools provide structured learning, social interaction, and personal growth. Coaching centers can help, but they cannot replace complete education,” CBSE stated.
CBSE urged students, parents, and educators to prioritize quality education. They emphasized the importance of choosing schools that follow national standards. A well-rounded education should go beyond just exam results.
