New Delhi: Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa has claimed that at least 30 AAP MLAs may switch parties. He suggested that Arvind Kejriwal could replace Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann.
Congress MLA Pargat Singh responded to Bajwa’s claim, stating only Bajwa could confirm this. However, he added that BJP would struggle to regain power in Punjab.
This comes after BJP’s historic win in Delhi. The party secured 48 out of 70 seats, ending AAP’s decade-long rule.
Pargat Singh criticized AAP’s governance. He said the ‘Delhi Model’ had failed in Punjab. He also claimed BJP would face challenges in Punjab and West Bengal.
Bajwa hinted that Bhagwant Mann was in touch with the Home Ministry. He suggested a rift was growing within AAP’s Punjab unit. He pointed out that AAP’s vote share in Punjab had dropped significantly.
Singh also reacted to BJP leader Jitendra’s statement about future victories. He called BJP’s governance a “failure” and accused them of divisive politics.
He admitted Congress was disappointed in Delhi but noted their vote share had improved. The party had hoped to win 8-10 seats but failed to secure any.
AAP now faces internal challenges after its defeat. The future of Punjab’s political landscape remains uncertain.
