Police Arrest Wife and Two Others Just 45 Days After Wedding
Aurangabad, Maharashtra: In a chilling case of betrayal and murder, a 22-year-old woman from Aurangabad allegedly plotted her husband’s killing just 45 days after their wedding, to continue an illicit relationship with her maternal uncle.
The victim, Priyanshu alias Chhotu, was shot dead on the night of June 24 while returning to his village on a bike. Police say the murder was carried out by contract killers hired by his wife, Goonja Singh, and her lover and maternal uncle, Jeevan Singh.
A Shocking Betrayal
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Ambrish Rahul, the investigation revealed that Goonja and Jeevan were in a relationship even before the marriage. After her forced marriage to Priyanshu, Goonja considered her husband an obstacle to the affair and allegedly conspired with Jeevan to eliminate him.
“Jeevan hired contract shooters, and they executed the murder only 45 days after the wedding,” SP Rahul told India Today.
How the Murder Was Planned
Priyanshu was ambushed and shot dead late at night by the hired shooters while he was riding home alone. His sudden death shocked the community and raised suspicions.
The Aurangabad Police immediately launched an investigation and formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to crack the case.
Using call detail record (CDR) analysis, CCTV footage, and intelligence inputs, the SIT traced the suspects. The key accused, Goonja Singh, was arrested along with two other accomplices, Jayshankar and Mukesh Sharma.
Wife Confesses to Plot
During interrogation, Goonja confessed to being part of the murder conspiracy. She admitted that she did not want to marry Priyanshu but was forced by her father.
Unable to break off her affair with Jeevan, she and her uncle decided to get rid of Priyanshu permanently.
“She admitted to being part of the murderous plot,” SP Rahul confirmed.
More Arrests Likely
Police are continuing the investigation to track down other accused involved in the murder. They believe more people may have helped plan or execute the killing.
The shocking crime has sparked outrage in the local community, with residents expressing disbelief over the brutal betrayal.
