New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made a historic comeback in the Delhi elections after 27 years. The party won 48 out of 70 seats, defeating the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which was reduced to just 22 seats.
Several top AAP leaders, including former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, lost their seats. Chief Minister Atishi, who won from Kalkaji, was the only major leader from AAP to secure a victory.
Following BJP’s win, West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari warned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, saying, “Look out, you’re next.” He stated that BJP will aim for a win in Bengal in the 2026 elections.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated BJP’s victory, calling it a win for good governance. He promised to develop Delhi and improve the quality of life for its people.
With this massive win, BJP has halted AAP’s rule in Delhi, setting the stage for future political battles.
