Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a heat wave alert for 58 mandals across the state.
APSDMA Managing Director Ronanki Kurmanadh said that the most affected areas will be Srikakulam (13 mandals), Vizianagaram (18 mandals), and Parvathipuram Manyam (14 mandals).
Heat wave conditions are also expected in:
Alluri Sitaramaraju (3 mandals)
Kakinada (2 mandals)
East Godavari (7 mandals)
Eluru (1 mandal)
Rising Temperatures
On Tuesday, Pedda Devalapuram in Nandyala recorded the highest temperature at 42.7°C.
Other high temperatures recorded were:
Ulindakonda, Kurnool – 42.6°C
Khajipet, Kadapa – 41.8°C
Darimadugu, Prakasam – 41.5°C
Nagasamudram, Anantapur & Wattalur, Annamayya – 41°C

APSDMA had earlier warned that temperatures will continue to rise, with heat wave conditions worsening in April and May.
