Bhubaneswar: Entrepreneur and Mindtree co-founder Subroto Bagchi has shared a moving post on social media, revealing what he considers the true wealth of his life — and it isn’t money.
Mr Bagchi served as the Chief Advisor to the Odisha Government for Institution and Capacity Building. He worked in the role for eight years.
In a heartfelt post, he shared a photo of his final salary cheque. It showed an amount of just one rupee.
“For every year of work I did with the government, the deal was that they paid me Re 1,” he wrote. “For the 8 years out there, I got 8 cheques and this one here was my last salary drawn.”
He called this cheque the “biggest wealth” of his life.
Mr Bagchi said he treasures the experience and honour of serving the people of Odisha more than anything else.
His gesture has touched many on social media, with people praising his humility and dedication.
Subroto Bagchi is known not only for his role in building Mindtree, a leading IT company, but also for his passion for public service.
