Trump Clarifies Tariff Stance, Modi Backs His Ukraine Peace Efforts

Washington, D.C.: U.S. President Donald Trump has clarified his stance on trade tariffs, stating that the U.S. is “not looking at beating anyone.” He made the remarks while discussing the use of tariffs on India to counter China.

His statement comes amid ongoing debates over the U.S. trade war with China.

Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed support for President Trump’s diplomatic efforts to bring peace to Ukraine.

During his visit to Washington, Modi said, “I am happy that President Trump spoke to President Putin to ensure peace in Ukraine.” He emphasized that India is not neutral but stands for peace. “We support every effort for peace in Ukraine, and I support President Trump’s efforts,” he added.

Modi also praised Trump, calling him synonymous with the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement. He said, just like Trump prioritizes American interests, he focuses on India’s interests.

Trump also praised Modi, calling him a great leader and saying he is doing a great job in India.
