New Delhi: Popular YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who has over 3.85 lakh subscribers, has been arrested for allegedly promoting a pro-Pakistan narrative after the Pahalgam terror attack. She is also being investigated for possible links with Pakistani intelligence.
No Remorse Shown During Interrogation
Sources told that Jyoti showed no remorse during questioning. She maintained that she was simply exercising her right to freedom of speech.
However, investigators claim she was asked to push a pro-Pakistan message as part of a “new form of warfare.”
Links with Pakistani Handlers
The police believe Jyoti was allegedly in contact with Pakistani handlers. She is suspected of receiving specific instructions and was reportedly given further tasks to carry out.
Authorities are also probing whether she leaked sensitive military or non-military information to Pakistani officials.
Pattern of Visits Raises Suspicion
Jyoti travelled to Pakistan three times — in 2023, 2024, and in March 2025. The timing of her last visit, just before the Pahalgam terror attack, has raised concerns.
Her recent travels to Kashmir are also being reviewed to see if she was directed to film specific locations for propaganda purposes.
Influencer Network Under Probe
Other social media influencers, especially travel vloggers who have visited Pakistan, are also under investigation. Police suspect a wider network aimed at pushing anti-India content online.
Link to Expelled Pakistani Official
Investigators say Harkirat Singh, one of 11 suspects in a separate espionage case, introduced Jyoti to Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish. Danish, a Pakistani Embassy official in Delhi, was expelled last week.
Harkirat, an employee of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, allegedly helped Jyoti get her Pakistan visa and facilitated her travel as part of Sikh pilgrimage groups.
His phone has been seized for forensic analysis. He was questioned and released but may be called again.
Ongoing Investigation
Police are now closely analyzing Jyoti’s videos, travel records, and communications. The case is developing, and more arrests or revelations are expected in the coming days.
