Washington, D.C.: Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams, currently aboard the International Space Station (ISS), shared insights about her daily routine and a possible early return to Earth.
In an interview with CBS News, Williams revealed that she calls her mother every day from space. “She likes it, but I think she wants me back home,” she said. Despite the excitement of space travel, Williams acknowledged that her mother would prefer to have her on Earth, spending time together.
Williams also hinted that she might return earlier than planned. “There’s a possibility we’ll come home a little sooner,” she said. NASA is currently working on plans for Crew-10’s arrival at the ISS, which will determine when she and her team return.
While no final decision has been made, Williams emphasized that safety and mission goals come first. “I want the right decision to be made,” she said. “In the best interest of all of us.”
Williams, a veteran astronaut, is known for her long-duration space missions. She has spent over 300 days in space and continues to inspire people worldwide.
